Even though Frank opts for a blackout rather than gathering with his children at the hospital, he perks up when he sees the key and recognizes the address as a storage unit. Wake up, any and all major television award voters!įollowing Monica’s death, the kids rummage through Monica’s belongings and find a key with a street address and numbers. She knew the salary renegotiation was on the horizon and decided to turn in the performance of a lifetime. “Give me liberty, or give me meth!” will for sure be the Frank Gallagher quote heard round the South Side, but we’d all be remiss if we didn’t mention four words uttered from Fiona’s mouth: “She didn’t love me.” Years upon years of repressed maternal rage escape from Fiona in the most cutting, tactful line delivery of Emmy Rossum’s career. But between those two extremes lies the mission statement of this morally ambiguous family drama that ties its narrative into a loose bow.
If you’re Fiona, you’re ready to bury the b–ch and call it a day. How does one feel when the woman who popped in and out of your orbit without concern suddenly dies? If you’re Frank, you’re sullen and inconsolable. In the wake of Monica’s untimely brain hemorrhage, her children and husband wade through the baggage of her death. Who knew Monica’s death would be the one to shake up the very fabric of Shameless? Monica’s funeral brought the whole Gallagher together and unearthed some startling emotional backlash.
